NW population welcome the Head of State and Mrs Chantal Biya end of year gift
The Governor of the North-West Region H.E Adolphe Lele Lafrique has received 60 trucks  with presidential gifts of relief materials directed to over 40,000 internally displaced persons in the 7 divisions.

Out of the 100 trucks with relief items destined to the North-West and South-West Regions, 60 arrived the chief town of the North-West Region Bamenda this Monday, December 30, 2019.

The Governor of the North-West Region while receiving the presidential gifts, said that it was a timely gesture from the Head of State H.E Paul Biya and wife Chantal Biya, so as to give a certain degree of comfort to the 40,000 internally displaced persons during this end of year festivities. Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique equally called on the beneficiaries to make good used of these goods made of Food stuff, mattresses, black, toiletries etc.

Senior Divisional Officers of the 7 Divisions that make up the North west Region, are expected to coordinate the distribution of this presidential gift in their respective divisions in the days ahead. According to Betari Baba who led the Civil Protection team from MINAT to accompany the trucks, everything has been put in place for these items to effectively get to the 7 divisions with the assistance of the regional coordinator of the Humanitarian aid plan for the North-West Region.

Getting the news of the arrival of the relief items, some internally displaced persons flooded the esplanade of the Governor's Office to see for themselves the effectiveness of the gift from the presidential couple. The internally displaced persons used the opportunity to thank Head of State and the First Lady, saying that the gifts will help bring to them some comfort and smile on their faces while praying that the crisis comes to an end.
