Given the insecurity in the North-West Region and the willingness of population to assist the Forces of Law and Order to bring back peace in the Region, some areas in the Region have created vigilante groups in their respective communities. The Head of state H.E Paul Biya, in order to support the initiatives, has sent to them some equipment to help facilitate their vigilante job on the field.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Region, while handing over the close to 42 motorcycles, engine saws, vests, solar lamps, megaphones, raincoats, rainboots, whistles amongst other security gadgets, reminded the population of the North-West Region that the head of state in his end of year message, promised that he will neglect nothing to secure the Nation, that is why he has sent these equipment to assist the vigilante groups in the Region. He added that the project to assist vigilante groups by the head of state started some time ago in Donga Mantung Division where a lot of success has been recorded and now it is the turn of the other  6 Divisions to benefit.
