Elections 2020 : The Gendarmerie staff get reinforced in the NWR
Some 350 Gendarme officers have arrived the chief town of the North-West Region in order to strengthen the security of the Region ahead of the twin Elections build for February 9, 2020.
The 350 Gendarme officers arrived Bamenda at 6pm on Wednesday January 8, 2020 when the Governor was closing the first semester Security Coordination Meeting bearing on security dispositions to take ahead of the incoming electoral season among other security challenges. Immediately after their arrival after a journey that took them the whole day, they were Welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of the North-West Region Adolphe Lele Lafrique alongside the legion Commander of the North West Region, Colonel Nkoa Mala Valere.
In the presence of all the Senior Divisional Officers in the Region, the Governor, while addressing the soldiers, made them to understand that it was the entire Region that was welcoming them. Governor Lele made it clear that the head of State H.E Paul Biya has send them to the region in order for them to protect the population and their property. The number one of the Region instructed them to be disciplined and that they should act with Honour and Fidelity towards the Republic and to the population of the North-West Region.
On his part, the Legion Commander for the North-West Region Colonel Nkoa Mala Valere, recalled that the Chief and Commander of the Arm Forces announced that all measures will be taken for elections to hold on come February 9, 2020 in every part of the Republic of Cameroon and that the North-West will not be an exception, saying the election will take place in all parts in the North west Region.
As a showcase of their state of mind, the 350 soldiers sang patriotic songs, telling their readiness in defending the Green Red Yellow. They will be despatch into the various Divisions as the twin Elections day.
