Bamenda Archdiocese : A new Shepherd has come
Thousands of Roman Catholic Christians, Clergies, traditional rulers, the administration, friends and family amongst others congregated at the Bamenda metropolitan cathedral today to witness the Canonical possession of the Bamenda Archdiocese by His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea.

Thousands of Roman Catholic Christians, Clergies, traditional rulers, the administration, friends and family amongst others congregated at the Bamenda metropolitan cathedral today to witness the Canonical possession of the Bamenda Archdiocese by His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea.

The Archbishop Emeritus His Grace Cornelius Fontem Esua in a welcome address thanked Church for standing by him since he took over the Archdiocese from the 1st Archbishop of Bamenda the late most Rev Paul Verdzekov some 15 years ago. The Archbishop emeritus, pleaded with the church gave all their support to their new father and spiritual leader His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea as he takes over as the chief Shepherd of the Bamenda Archdiocese.

After a highly applauded homily by the most Rev George Nkuo Bishop of Kumbo in which he called on  the new Archbishop of Bamenda to lead his people with the love of a father, the Representative of the Holy Father the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea His Grace Julio Murat  presented the New Archbishop of the Bamenda Archdiocese to the Christians and immediately headed over to him the crossia which a sign of authority that the Archbishop carries.

His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea was born on August 29, 1965 in Widikum, Momo Division of the North-West Region, his both parents are from Libialem in the South-West Region. Many has describe him as a peace and Justice Crusade and is ready to contribute his own part to the much needed peace in the Archdiocese.

The church, families, friends and well wishers all took turns to hand over gifts in cash and in kind to their new Father as a sign of love and welcome to him. Some of his friends offered him a brand new car to help facilitate his pastoral duties in the Archdiocese and beyond.

The head of state H.E Paul Biya was personally represented at the the solemn induction by the Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji flanked by other Government Ministers alongside the Governor of the North-West Region Adolphe Lele Lafrique.

The New Archbishop His Grace Andrew Fuanya Nkea celebrated his first Mass as Archbishop of Bamenda and as parish priest of St Joseph Big Mankon on Sunday February 23, 2020 a day after taken possession of the archdiocese of Bamenda.
