ADB signs loan agreement and Grant with theCameroon
The MINEPAT has congratulated GP-DERUDEP for effectively implementing the first phase of the Project.

The Minister was speaking during the signing ceremony of the Loan Agreement and Grant award for the financing of the activities of the Grass field phase II. The ceremony took place at the Congress Hall, Bamenda in the presence of the Governor of the North West Region, LELE LAFRIQUE TCHOFFO DEBEN Adolphe, Senior Divisional Officers in the North West Region, Divisional Officers, Regional Delegates, members of the steering committee amongst others.

The Minister of the Economy planning and Regional Development(MINEPAT) equally enjoined the beneficiaries to emulate the example of phase I which was effectively implemented by GP-DERUDEP.

The Grassfield project phase II is made up of three components, namely; the rehabilitation of rural infrastructure, capacity building and participatory development and management and coordination of the project. The African Development Bank financed in 2004 the first phase of the project which was aimed at reducing poverty in the rural areas of the North West Region.

The main results obtained within the framework of the implementation of the project proved successful as it generated additional revenue of about 5 billion to beneficiaries of the project through agricultural development activities, increased commercialization by 60%, rehabilitation of 25km and the realization of socio-economic infrastructure through the local Development Fund.

The total cost of the Grassfield phase II is 19.14 billion FCFA and the start of disbursement of funds is 2014. The project duration is five years.
