Officials and stakeholders of the Ministry of Basic Education have been challenged to collaborate with government and local authorities, parents and vigilante groups for a smooth and successful reopening of the 2017/2018 academic year.

Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique was speaking during the sector conference of all appointed officials and stakeholders of the ministry of Basic Education, North-West.

While opening the conference at the PCC hall Ntamulung, in Bamenda, the Governor also asked the basic education family to denounce all forms of destruction of the educational system in the Region and to move forward.

The conference which also served as a launch for the 2017/2018 school year, operated under the theme "Pedagogic and multiculturalism, geared towards the improvement of togetherness".

The Regional Delegate of Basic Education for the North-West, Wilfred Wambeng Ndong, used the event as an opportunity to reassure teachers in the North-West that the Government is granting the demands of the teachers trade union by integrating contract teachers into the public service and the introduction of new examination instructions.
