Bamendankwe : 02 days of cultural celebration
The Bamendakwe Unity come together, Summer 2017, has ended in pomp and color at the Fon's palace esplanade Mendakwe.

The Bamendakwe Unity come together, Summer 2017, has ended in pomp and color at the Fon's palace esplanade Mendakwe, and was presided over by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Songa Pierre Rene.
Organized by the Bamendakwe Cultural Association BAMENCA and the Bamendakwe Elites Association BAMELA, under the distinguished patronage and sponsorship of Mr Taniform Peters, the 2 day event brought together the youths, elites, custodians of the land, sons and daughters of Mendakwe to chat a way forward for the socioeconomic growth of the Mendakwe people.
The event unfolded on Friday August 25th, at the Bamenda 1 council hall, where the youths were educated on community volunteerism, career choices and development and other topics by some motivational speakers.
The day ended at the CCM, playground with a football finals that saw Ntenifor Stars emerging victors after defeating New town united in a penalty shot out 6-5.
The 2 days event ended on Saturday August 26th 2017, with a cultural jamboree at the Fon's palace esplanade with a colorful display of the cultural heritage, detailed history of the Mendakwe people and motivational talks and was presided at by the S.D.O for Mezam Songa Pierre Rene in the company of Caroline Bi Bongwa the Mayor of Bamenda 1, who was thrilled by the traditions of the Mendakwe people.
Events unfolded under the watchful eyes of the Fon of Mendakwe, His Royal Highness Fongwa the 2nd, who called on his people to forgive and forget about the past and for the children to go back to school this September and be able to build their community.
