MINEDUB Kicked off the 2017/2018 school year
The launching ceremony took place at Government Bilingual Nursery and Primary School GMI Azire.

Basic Education Minister Yousouf Hadija Alim, today in Bamenda, chief town of the North West Region, launched the 2017/2018 academic year for basic education, in the presence of North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique and the Senior Divisional for Mezam, Songa Pierre René.
The launching ceremony took place at Government Bilingual Nursery and Primary School GMI Azire. Converged on the school campus to witness the event were, nursery and primary school pupils and their teachers, parents, basic education stakeholders and school authorities.
In her key note address, the Basic Education boss, encouraged the administrators and authorities of the North West to uphold the values of education and never relent their efforts while doing so regardless the tensed atmosphere in which schools resume this year.
To the parents, Minister Hadija called on them to make an extra effort and send their kids to school saying that education is the only tool for development and school the only place where a nation can groom responsible citizens who are future leaders of tomorrow. She also laid emphasis on the fact stringent measures have been taken by basic education officials like catch up classes to make up for the lost time.
It was a perfect occasion for the Minister of Basic Education to remind all and sundry that the authorities are finding lasting solutions to the anglophone crisis which is still a hindrance to the effective resumption of classes in the 2 English speaking Regions of Cameroon, while citing special measure already implemented by the Head of State like the creation of the National Commission on Bilingualism and Multiculturalism and the recent release of a majority of anglophones arrested in connection to the crisis.
The launch of the 2017/2018 back to school in the North West Region brought together the entire Basic Education family in the North West, law enforcement officials, press men and women and many others.
Before launching the academic year, MINEDUB, accompanied by the Governor and his entourage, toured some schools of Basic Education in Bamenda to witness the effectiveness of the school resumption.
