Gaz for all in Bamenda very soon.
The foundation stone of an ultra-modern LPG Filling Centre sponsored by the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund, CSPH was laid this day in Bamenda, Bangshie by the Representative of the Prime Minister in the person of HE. Gaston ELOUNDOU ESSOMBA in the presence of the elite of the North West.

The populations of the 7 divisions of the North West Region and its surroundings will be supplied with domestic gas at affordable prices and without any risk of disruption in the distribution chain.

In an elated speech, the City Mayor of Bamenda, Paul ACHOBONG welcomed the government‘s project. The Bangshie domestic gas Filling Centre is going to regulate the hike in prices of butane gas in the markets. It will bring much to the Region; by generating direct and indirect jobs, reduce the risks of handling gas cylinders, minimizing the risk of gas shortage, encouraging the consumption of domestic gas instead of the firewood.

According to the General Manager of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund, CSPH OKIE Johnson NDOH, the creation of the Centre is in line with the government’s butanisation policies that aims at reinforcing domestic LPG production by reducing imports which represent 84.84 % of the total supply in 2019, improving the standard of living of the population, fighting against deforestation and promoting sustainable energy.

The representative of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, the Minister of Water Resources and Energy Gaston ELOUNDOU ESSOMBA encouraged CSPH and all the companies under his Governance in the construction of similar Centers in order to revitalize our economy. This Center he said is the third and the biggest in the country and comes after that of Maroua and Bertoua. 

The futuristic project to be realized by the company named JENS Production covers a surface of approximately 6 hectares, worths FCFA 5 billion with storage and filling capacity of 200 metric tons. The ultra modern infrastructure will consist of 04 tanks of 50TM, 01 caroussel of 12 stations, 01 fire water tank, 01 gas filling hall, 01 clinic 02 weightbridges , 01 cafeteria among others.
