Handing over of command in the NWR
Colonel Raymond BOUM BISSOUE takes over North West Gendarnerie Legion from Colonel Valere NKOA MALA

In the presence of top Administrative and Military officials of the North-West Region, on Wednesday April 22, 2020 the Commander of the 5th Gendarnerie Region Brigadier General EKONGWESE Divine on behalf of the head of state, Commander of the Armed Forces, paid homage to Colonel Valere NKOA MALA for bravery since July 2017 went he took over as Commander of the Gendarnerie Legion.
The General equally saluted his efforts and security contribution towards the successful organization of the February 9, twin elections and the March, 22, 2020 Legislative Re-run despite the numerous threats. Colonel Valere NKOA MALA moves to Yaounde as Inspector at the National Gendarmerie.
Taking over the North-West Gendarnerie Legion is 53 years old Colonel Raymond BOUM BISSOUE, who is firmly aware of the challenges that lies ahead of him, amongst which is the much needed peace in the Region.
"I came to continue the works of my predecessor, we are here to maintain peace peace and we hope we are going to do our best and efforts for peace to return to this our very beautiful area of our Country" said Colonel Raymond BOUM BISSOUE in front of the press in an interview he granted after he took over the command.
For close to 4 years now, the North-West Region has not been stable due to the activities of separatist fighters. Colonel Raymond BOUM BISSOUE is charged to face the same challenge while hoping that peace returns in the nearest future.
